Police found Bampumim Teixeira, who is a legal permanent resident, inside a $1.9 million condo belonging to anesthesiologists Lina Bolanos, 38, and Richard Field, 49. Reports claim their throats had been cut.

Bampumim Teixeira, 30, of Chelsea, was arrested at the apartment.

A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf and he was ordered held without bail at his arraignment in his room at Tufts Medical Center on Monday.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has not confirmed his nationality.

According to reports Dr Field, also an anesthesiologist, was born in Hammersmith, west London, and the MA medical register said he graduated from Sheffield University's medical school in 1999. A Facebook profile in his name also states he was from the UK. Conley told reporters that "there is no evidence whatsoever at this point" to conclude that Teixiera had a personal relationship with the victims.

Minutes later, police arrived and found keys left outside the door of the doctor's 11th-floor penthouse. Inside they found Teixeira dressed all in black and wearing black gloves.

Officers struck the man, and after a violent struggle, placed him in custody and transported him to a hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, according to a police statement. The victims were found bound and dead.

The prosecutor said Boston police received two 911 phone calls - one from the front desk at the luxury Macallen Building in South Boston to report that it had received a concerned call from a friend of Field, and the other call from the friend himself. He was arraigned Monday while still in his hospital bed.

Suspect Bampumim Teixeira was charged in his hospital bed.

Conley said his correction of the initial report was not to discredit the officers involved in the confrontation, rather simply to correct the record.

Suffolk County District Attorney spokesman Jake Wark told Heavy.com he believed Teixeira was in the country legally.

This contrasts with earlier comments made by Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, who previously said it was likely the couple knew the suspect. Police have not discussed how Teixeira entered the security-guarded apartment block and the couple's home. Last June, Teixeira demanded money at a Boston bank by passing a note. The second case arose out of an earlier incident that had gone unsolved for nearly two years: "He volunteered his responsibility for it, unbidden, during his interview with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force after he was identified in the 2016 case".

Teixeira was recently releasedafter serving nine months of a yearlong sentence for larceny.

Field "was a guiding vision" at North Shore Pain Management, an entity he helped create back in 2010, according to the practice. Their patients and colleagues mourned their deaths over the weekend, remembering the doctors as outstanding members of the medical community.

"His tragic and sudden passing leaves an inescapable void in all of us", the centre added in a statement.
