Canada warns it may cancel US jet buy over Bombardier probe

Canada "strongly disagrees" with the U.S. Commerce Department decision to investigate Boeing's claims that Bombardier sold planes below cost in the United States and benefited unfairly from Canadian government subsidies, the statement added.

Freeland's comments came as the next potential Canada-U.S. trade dispute unfolded Thursday with the aerospace giants clashing at a Washington hearing.

The threat comes amid increasing trade disputes between Canada and the U.S. and on the same day the Trump administration formally told Congress that it intends to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The Commerce probe in Boeing's case, which was expected, parallels a probe by the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) into Boeing's allegations that Bombardier sold 75 CSeries planes to Delta Air Lines Inc previous year at a price well below cost.

American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) Issues Quarterly Earnings Results
Higher advertising expense was offset by lower compensation expense and favorability across a number of other expense categories. Glen Harbor Capital Management LLC increased its position in shares of American Eagle Outfitters by 2.2% in the first quarter.

"Boeing's petition in this case is unprecedented in its overreach", he said.

It argues that Bombardier's true goal is to grab half the US market share for 100-to-150-seat aircraft and it is using its sale of cheap planes to Delta to build momentum.

Boeing said Bombardier has received more than United States dollars 3 billion in government subsidies so far that have allowed Bombardier to engage in "predatory pricing".

"It is untenable for us to continue competing with government subsidized competitors" Boeing Vice Chairman Raymond L. Conner said. Bombardier lawyers also point to Boeing's enviable backlog of products, suggesting that Boeing has not lost any revenue as a result of the alleged predatory pricing action by Bombardier.

Kane expects Tottenham 'family' to stay together
Tottenham in turn, due to a misfire from West Ham on May 5, lost all chances for the championship in this season, but it's too late to talk about it.

In 2012, Bombardier announced it planned on strengthening its strategic partnership with the company with an agreement that involved collaboration on the development and customer operating efficiencies of the C919 and Bombardier's CSeries.

The Canadian government said late last year it would enter into discussions with the U.S. and Boeing on buying 18 Super Hornet jet fighters from Boeing on an interim basis and hold an open competition to buy more planes over the next five years.

How U.S. regulators decide the dispute will have a significant impact on the market for small, regional jetliners in North America and globally, and on U.S.

Bombardier's CSeries program is now at the centre of what could be a major trade dispute between Canada and the United States. Brazil has also launched a formal complaint to the World Trade Organization over Canadian subsidies to Bombardier.

Melissa McCarthy, Alec Baldwin Return To SNL
We're not sure what will come first - Trump sending out a tweet about the SNL sketch or Spicer getting axed as Press Secretary. To find out, McCarthy's dismayed Spicer took his moving lectern to the streets of NY to speak with Trump.

The Commerce Department last month began collecting duties averaging 20 percent on imports of Canadian softwood lumber, saying that the product's origin from public land amounted to an unfair government subsidy. Those duties would increase the cost of the Bombardier planes ordered by Delta.
