She answered the question of who she would cast during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, when she also said she would be keen for her character to get her own spin-off. But, Gomez hasn't ruled out future episodes.

Now Gomez, who played Missy on the show and will return in a new episode on Saturday, has said the British host of USA show Last Week Tonight With John Oliver would be her choice to take his place.

The 51-year-old Scottish actress revealed that she couldn't contemplate staying on the series without Peter Capaldi or Steven Moffat. Steven writes so amazingly for me. Who would I be?

However, Michelle Gomez teased that her character Missy will be in conflict with John Simm's the Master.

I don't know about you, but this news is a bit of bummer to me, because I liked what Michelle Gomez was bringing to the table as Missy. It's sort of... two Masters in one, in a way!
