LeGarrette Blount: Carson Wentz 'probably the best quarterback in his draft class'

At least that's what CSNNE.com's Gary Tanguay is advising Eagles fans.

On Wednesday, LeGarrette Blount signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. "And then I think it was (Greg) Schiano went down there and [Blount] didn't play well for him, it didn't work out", Tanguay said.

"The 18 touchdowns, it's a nice stat, little misleading though - a lot of red-zone opportunities".

Respect goes a long way for Blount, so as long as he feels wanted, he'll give everything he can for the team.

"I don't want to get into detail about who and what", Blount said. "But he certainly wasn't a top-of-the-line back". The Patriots signing the tender mean they are ONLY allowed to pay him 1.1 million which means they can't match the Eagles offer. "I've been part of something special before, and you just get the feeling they have something special here". Goff didn't play until late November, and in his seven starts he threw just five touchdowns, had seven picks and fumbled five times.

Toward the end of the season and in the playoffs, Blount wasn't much of a factor for the Patriots.

"This is a ideal fit for me", Blount said to Kevin Duffy of MassLive.com. I split with Cadillac Williams [in Tampa Bay]. "I'm very excited to be here and compete with those guys, and hopefully, make some room for myself".

"We had the best quarterback probably to ever play football", Blount said when asked about playing with Brady. "I just want to fit in somewhere". "I wouldn't necessarily put a number on (how many carries he needs), but after a few, you can kind of tell". That limited Blount to a mere 2-yard gain no matter how many yards were needed for a first down, with the 10% chance that Blount would rip off a 10+ yard gain. But has there been a better modern-day evaluator of talent from other teams with the ability to project the players into the New England offense than Belichick?

There is an eerie precedence for this sort of thing though; in 2004 the Patriots let Antowain Smith walk after being the lead back on two Super Bowl championship teams in 3 seasons, which is exactly what Blount has been in New England.

I am sure that many are aware that LeGarrette Blount was someone that we all had thought to be gone once he would hit free agency.

On the day the Eagles introduced their newest addition, a running back that punched in an NFL-high 18 touchdowns last season, Tanguay joined Philly Sports Talk and did more than simply temper expectations. Perhaps they saw him as one of those foreign luxury cars, like an Austin Healey, that you have to be specially trained to know how to drive and fix if you want to own one. I've been a part of something special before and I feel they have something special building here.
