Automata Developer PlatinumGames Teasing New IP — NieR

In the course of a keynote held at BitSummit of Tokyo, the producer of PlatinumGames, Atsushi Inaba, has announced that the popular Japanese software company is now working on a completely original IP.

The studio behind Bayonetta and NieR: Automata, PlatinumGames has teased that it is in the early stages of development for a brand new IP.

Platinum Games has been busy bringing its console exclusive titles like Bayonetta and Vanquish to PC.

Inaba-san actually gave a speech at last year's BitSummit, talking about how Platinum longed to have their own IP. The popularity, in fact, helped Platinum's newest game, Nier: Automata quickly surpass a million copies being moved across PC and PS4, managing to do so throughout the month of March. He went on to say that they are excited about working on new games for the fans. No other details were revealed but it will be interesting to see a new IP from the studio. Maybe this is the title they are looking forward to rely on a trademark for the studio to revolve around. Inaba didn't reveal too much information about the project except that it's a "formless, shapeless IP" that will involve a new director.
