Dozens injured in Melbourne tram crash

A truck carrying soil crashed into the side of a route 58 tram in Royal Park just after 8am on Monday, flipping the truck cabin onto its side and the tram off into the park.

A tram driver is one of ten people taken to hospital after his tram collided with a truck and derailed in a Melbourne park. Police were also at the scene.

Ambulance Victoria attended the scene and treated 29 people for minor injuries, with 14 requiring transportation to hospital for further treatment.

One woman named Jennifer who witnessed the crash told ABC Radio Melbourne that passengers heard screams before being thrown from their seats.
