GOP Senators: Sessions Will Stay Loyal to Trump

Sessions, a former senator, offered to resign because of tensions with Trump over his decision to recuse himself from a federal investigation into ties between Trump's associates and Russian officials when Russia was allegedly meddling in the 2016 US presidential election, according to media reports.

The White House again on Wednesday refused to say whether President Donald Trump has confidence in his attorney general, the second consecutive day a top White House spokesperson has declined to provide that assurance, adding fuel to reports of a rift between Sessions and Trump.

Spicer's silence on Sessions comes two days before fired FBI Director James Comey gives much-anticipated testimony before the Senate on his interactions with Mr. Trump.

Though she's totally on board with the new film, she decided not to do a cameo to allow Emily Blunt to fully take on the challenging role.

Trump's lingering anger on Sessions deepened when a special counsel, spearheaded by Robert Mueller, was formed following Sessions' recusal, to oversee the probe into possible collusion between Russian officials and members of the president's administration.

When asked about Trump's confidence in Sessions, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer stated that he hadn't spoken to the president about the subject. He could not say.

The attorney general told Trump in recent weeks that he could resign if that was what was wanted, according to the two people who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal White House matters. Former FBI Director James Comey is set to testify Thursday about his private discussions with Trump and the Russian Federation investigation has lapped into the White House, with questions about the President's son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner. But he will reportedly shoot down the president's claim that the FBI chief told him multiple times that he was not under investigation.

Still, tensions linger. On Monday, Trump derided the revised travel ban and criticized his own Justice Department's handling of the controversial case.

After the election, Sessions was rewarded with one of the most prominent positions in Trump's new administration, atop the Justice Department. Trump seemed to blame the DOJ for the "politically correct" revised version of the order, which Trump himself signed, posting that the Justice Department "should have stayed with the original Travel Ban, not the watered down, politically correct version they submitted" to the Supreme Court.
