Calgary police investigate 'CanadaCreep' voyeuristic Twitter account

Calgary police sources told Postmedia Wednesday that investigators have arrested a suspect in connection with the CanadaCreep Twitter account - widely criticized for posting lewd and unsolicited photos and videos of women, including at least one who is a minor.

The account featured photos of unsuspecting women at CTrain stations, Plus-15s and other places around Calgary.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday Staff Sgt. Cory Dayley said some of the videos posted to the account are "clearly disturbing".

They say they identified a suspect thanks to a public tip and arrested a 42-year-old Calgary man on Tuesday afternoon.

"What's extremely alarming to me, personally, is that this amount of content is out there and it has become this much of a social norm to people to not only see it, but just bypass it in their everyday searches online", he said.

"Multiple electronic devices were seized" when the man was taken into custody, according to police.
