Anger mounts over London fire

Smoke billows from a tower block severly damaged by a serious fire, in north Kensington, West London, Britain June 14, 2017.

"The recovery of victims from inside the building is enormously challenging, but it is our absolute priority above everything else to recover and identify the victims and let the families know", Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy said.

Grief is turning to outrage in the wake of London's deadly Grenfell Tower apartment block fire, with British Prime Minister Theresa May confronted by protesters and a crowd of angry locals storming the local town hall.

"It would not be appropriate for us to comment or for others to speculate on any aspect of fire, or its causes, in advance of these inquiries", managing director Ray Bailey said.

"His dream was to be able to go back home one day and rebuild Syria". Police said on Friday that 30 people were confirmed to have died. Another 11 bodies were inside the charred remains of the building.

"She wanted an entirely controlled situation in which she didn't use her humanity", former cabinet minister Michael Portillo told the BBC.

Coroner: 'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher died of sleep apnea, other factors
Todd Fisher thinks that a combination of factors - and behaviors - including Fisher's smoking habit, killed his sister. Her mother and fellow Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds died a day later, after being rushed to hospital, aged 84.

London police said an investigation, led by a detective from its homicide and major crime unit, would examine whether criminal offences had been committed although they said there was nothing to suggest the fire was started deliberately.

It was fitted by a company called Harley Facades, which has put out a statement following Wednesday's blaze saying: "We are not aware of any link between the fire and the exterior cladding of the tower". Hospitals treated 74 people, of whom 18 remain in a critical condition.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince William visited the disaster site after Communities secretary Sajid Javid's visit, who promised re-housing the victims, and a thorough inquiry into the incident after experts and residents had cautioned the tower was a fire hazard.

One of those was Gloria Trevisan, a 26-year-old Italian architect who was living in London because her family was having financial difficulties at home in Italy. Many have expressed their frustration that protocol makes it impossible for hospitals and police to give out details of victims, making the search more hard.

"There are times when all the words we can say are not adequate and sometimes words fail us because no words can do justice to how we feel, or what we have seen or what has happened".

He said: "There were a number of recommendations, all recommendations were actioned and my predecessor responded to that report publicly about how they would be actioned and they've been actioned".

According to media reports, the cladding had a plastic core and was similar to that used by high-rise buildings in France, the United Arab Emirates and Australia, which had also suffered fires that spread.

The building housed people from many countries, including Eritrea, the Philippines, Somalia and Sudan.

"We are here today because you must look at that building with tears streaming down your face", one woman said as they neared the foot of the tower.

The royal visitors were greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, Ken Olisa, with the shell of the tower block visible in the distance behind them.

The monarch has expressed her sympathies to families of victims of the blaze that ripped through the 24-story building, killing at least 17.

Syrian refugee Mohammed Alhajali, 23, and artist Khadija Saye, 24, have been named as the first victims as anger grows about why apparent warnings over fire safety in the tower were ignored.
