Hamilton Wins in Canada but Vettel Takes the Spotlight

LEWIS Hamilton has dominated an exciting Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix to slash a big chunk out of Sebastian Vettel's championship lead.

Britain's Lewis Hamilton savoured a poignant victory at the Canadian Grand Prix after he cut world championship leader Sebastian Vettel's advantage to 12 points on Sunday.

Lance Stroll has faced a lot of external criticism across his first seven Grand Prix but, after retiring in each of his first three outings, the Canadian is now on a run of four consecutive finishes and has finally scored his first world championship points with two points for ninth place.

"They did such a great job of analysing what went wrong, all the points", he said. His Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo finished third.

Hamilton led from pole to flag in a flawless race but significantly - after a hard weekend at the last round in Monaco, where he struggled to find the right setup and could finish only in seventh - he and the team had their auto hooked up from the off in Montreal.

In that endeavour he was assisted by the opening lap appearance of the Safety Car, due to a collision between Carlos Sainz's Toro Rosso and Romain Grosjean's Haas.

The casino said the machine malfunctioned and the courts agreed, saying that the game's rules set a $10,000 cap and no bonuses. The complaint alleges that Resorts World Casino was "negligent" and did not adequately maintain their lottery equipment.

The first lap also saw the horrific crash between Carlos Sainz and Romain Grosjean, which prompted for the safety vehicle on track. "I asked to check and then running behind the safety auto with the damage, it was so slow that you couldn't really feel it".

"I was stuck. with Lewis in front, I couldn't really brake any deeper, otherwise I'd push him off, I had Valtteri on the left, and Max then suddenly appearing on the right".

"I had my first pole here, my first win here 10 years ago. To come here and deliver what we've delivered is a great blow to the Ferraris".

"Eventually we did, but I wanted that podium".

An emotional Hamilton said: "I am shaking... Wow..."

Vettel was not the only driver to be negatively affected by the start.

More funding may be added to GOP health plan
The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the House bill will result in 23 million more people being uninsured by 2026 . Asked if she was frustrated and whether she wishes there were hearings on the legislation, she answered: "Yes".

Hamilton will be looking to snatch that lead from Vettel at Azerbaijan where the next race will be held from 23rd-25th June 2017.

The pink Force India cars of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon were fifth and sixth after battling among each other on the track - and over the radio - for position down the stretch.

"We had a discussion [about going onto the super-softs] before the race started", Hamilton added. "I was fairly busy the whole race, had a lot of things to do, from a racing point of view was great, I really enjoyed it, it wasn't boring at all, but yeah I think as I said, the pace was there, the vehicle deserved to finish higher up".

"I could see on the TV screen that he was seventh, sixth, fifth, and then I saw him in fourth, and I was like "God damn it", it would have been better if he was in fifth". Verstappen's pain was Hamilton's gain as it made his task all that much easier.

With the Force India cars battling with each other, Vettel overtook Ocon in the 66th lap and then, after leaving the track in a chicane, passed Perez as well.
