Trump's attorney says he is not under investigation

Nobody wants to undermine Robert Mueller, the special counsel in the Russia-U.S. election probe, but the media has been accusing President Donald Trump of committing acts that do not constitute obstruction of justice, one of his attorneys, Jay Sekulow said Monday.

Whether Trump himself is under investigation at this stage also is still unclear.

However, Mr. Comey did say he took the President's "hope" comment as a "directive".

Beleaguered Attorney General Jeff Sessions, recused from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and the firing of FBI Director James Comey, faced the lions before the Senate Intelligence Committee last week and survived with barely a scratch.

Prominent criminal lawyers have been contacted to possibly represent Jared Kushner in the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US election, The New York Times reports. "If Mueller discussed the Comey's termination with Trump as a candidate for the next FBI Director", Turley writes, "he might also be considered a witness in any obstruction investigation". Special counsel investigating Kushner business dealings
Now it appears Mueller is examining the president's own conduct, which may include whether Trump tried to obstruct justice. CBS News confirmed late last month that Kushner is under scrutiny in the probe into Russian election meddling .

That Trump now feels the need to attack seasoned prosecutors for simply doing their jobs speaks volumes - and says nothing reassuring about the lengths to which Trump, for whom self-preservation has always been the top priority, might eventually go.

Rosenstein in a memorandum had made the case for the ouster of FBI Director James Comey. He and his team are now assessing former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's recent testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, reviewing Comey's memos documenting his encounters with Trump, and preparing to interview certain administration officials - such as Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers - regarding press accounts of comments the president allegedly made to them about the Russian Federation probe.

Mustafa Barghouti, a Palestinian leader involved in peace talks both with Israelis and internally, said Palestinians were skeptical of Kushner and Trump's team generally, as they saw the duo was close only to the Israeli side. That's it. That's all that Jay Sekulow knows.

President Trump now finds himself exactly where he doesnt want to be: under investigation by a dogged, highly respected prosecutor who owes him no personal or political loyalty. "That's it. Simple explanation". In some ways, I wish President Trump had done the same. In fact, on June 18 of 2009 - the equivalent day in Obama's first term, his approval rating in the conservative-leaning Rasmussen poll stood at 55 percent. "The president is not a subject or target of an investigation".

Over the weekend, Sekulow declared that Trump is not under investigation, after the president condemned the investigation as a "witch hunt" through a series of tweets. "Ah-hah!" they squealed, Trump has confirmed that he is under investigation.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho accused of tax evasion in Spain
The Economic Crime Section of the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Madrid has filed a complaint with the Court of Instruction. Ronaldo, 32, has denied the charges and is threatening to leave Spain after running into problems with tax authorities.

The President and his allies have declared open season on Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing the probe.

Sekulow made numerous same arguments on the Sunday news shows, though he told Fox News Sunday that he couldn't read Mueller's mind and that he couldn't say with 100 percent certainty that Trump wasn't being investigated.

Tweet or no tweet, the president is not under investigation, according to Sekulow.

Indeed, it would be negligent for us not to investigate. He takes the action that they also by the way, recommended, and now he's being investigated by the Department of Justice.
