Celtics 'appear to be leaning' toward Jayson Tatum, not Josh Jackson
And, of course, the biggest blockbuster came earlier this week when the Celtics traded the first overall pick to the Sixers, who used it to get Markelle Fultz.
After all, this IS the Celtics, the bane of the Sixers existence for most of the 1960s, as well as some heartbreaking years in the 1980s. The Warriors selected Purdue center Joe Barry Carroll.
And into it all, sitting back and waiting to see what falls to them are the Raptors, armed with the 23rd pick and a collective look of bemusement at all the shenanigans. No way. Absolutely. No. Way.
During Wednesday's predraft media availability at the Grand Hyatt in which he spoke for 23 minutes, Fultz said he plans on winning right away in the National Basketball Association. He's the ideal complement to 6-10 wing Ben Simmons (the No. 1 pick who was injured all last year) and 7-foot center Joel Embiid, the former No. 3 pick who looked awesome in 31 games last year. However, the stipulations are more than fair. "And for those of us who've been able to have a hand in both of [their development], they're two, not just great athletes and teammates, but two great individuals", Fultz said.
He is considered a longer-range project that some of the American point guards in the draft, in part because of the level of competition he has played against and questions about his offensive game.
Bill Cosby may testify at sexual assault trial
Cosby became a mentor to Constand, and he would sometimes invite her to dinner at his house either alone or with others. Richard Schaffer's testimony could blunt efforts by Cosby's lawyers to exploit the fact that Castor saw no case.
That's a joke, an exaggeration and an oversimplification - sort of - but no one seems to want to acknowledge that the more we talk about the NBA Draft, the less of an impact the players we're talking about are having on the league. Moreover, it will be interesting to see how Fultz plays with Ben Simmons, who isn't exactly known for his jump shooting prowess. What's also certain is that there will be a handful of draft picks that will leave our future selves scratching our heads. Last season Jerryd Bayless and Gerald Henderson were the only players on the roster with seven or more years of experience, and Bayless only played 20 games because of a wrist injury and Henderson was a role player. That being said, it's something to be excited about at this time.
In other words, Sixers fans, be patient. If all goes well, we could officially be seeing the end of "The Process" as we know it. I can't really control who calls my name on Thursday.
But we're due. Really, we're due.
- Only eight teams progressed from earning multiple top-10 draft picks in this decade to appearing in the 2017 National Basketball Association playoffs. Not apathy, as I truly care, but ambivalence.
Also on the team are centers Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid, who were selected No. 3 overall in 2015 and 2014, respectively.

The 18-year-old Frenchman stirred plenty of interest when he led his team to last year's FIBA U-18 European championship, scoring 31 points and making 7 of 10 3-pointers in the title-game win against Lithuania. "So I'll just deal with the cards I'm dealt and try to make the best of any situation I'm given".
Fultz said it's the pictures of the things that mean the most to him. However, they've begun to trust "The Process" and they're nearly in playoff territory again after posting a 28-54 record in the 2016-17 season.
Fultz said he appreciated that those guys watched his workout "and made me relax a little bit more".
All this written, my optimistic side is strangely winning out at the moment.
