Management Team Suing Nate Diaz for More than $1 Million

According to the lawsuit, the Diaz brothers had agreed that Nate would pay the group in the same way and terms that brother Nick was paying them.

MMA fighter Nate Diaz is one of the biggest names in the UFC.

Nate Diaz is getting sued for over $1m (£0.79m) by the Ballengee Group over claims of theft, breach of contract and fraud among other charges.

Attorney Jason Friedman, who is representing The Ballengee Group, told ESPN that Diaz cut ties with the agency around July 2016, one month prior to the second McGregor fight.

UFC 202 was of course, the most successful UFC pay-per-view of all time with 1,650,000 buys with Diaz bagging a $2m (£1.58m) purse from the contest, not including the additional income he would have received from pay-per-view cuts and his fight of the night bonus.

The Ballengee Group filed the suit in District Court in Texas this week.

Diaz had worked with the Ballengee Group since 2014.

According to the lawsuit, the Diaz brothers encouraged a third UFC fighter, female bantamweight Leslie Smith, to sign with The Ballengee Group in 2015. The suit also claims that Sam Awad, the attorney for Nate, convinced Nate to not only leave the management team, but to stop making payments to them as well.
