Team New Zealand routs Oracle Team USA to win America's Cup

New Zealand flew to the edge of America's Cup victory over the United States yesterday, going 6-1 ahead in the first-to-seven final and setting themselves up to exorcise the ghost of losing in San Francisco in 2013. Oracle skipper Jimmy Spithill exuded an archetypal Australian confidence, cracking jokes and was very comfortable playing the role of the bully exerting an extraordinary advantage.

The charismatic Spithill has more expertise in match racing, the sailing equivalent of a boxing contest, and the benefit of almost two decades of America's Cup experience.

Spithill, who equalled Sir Russell Coutts for most finals wins over the weekend, was understandbly devastated by the result.

The New Zealanders then streaked away and built a convincing lead to the finish, flying into the line on their space-age 50-foot catamaran in front of a packed grandstand in the purpose-built America's Cup Village.

"After San Francisco, we had a pretty brutal debrief", the team's CEO Grant Dalton told reporters after lifting the cup.

Prime Minister Bill English said the Government would be open to discussing funding with Team NZ for the next challenge at a later date, warning there could be "a big bill attached" to hosting the regatta in New Zealand.

"The foresight that we had as a team to be aggressive and bold in our design philosophy has ultimately provided us with the victory here today", Ashby said.

"Over the past few years we have held national events here and we're actually going to be hosting another national event early in the New Year, which should be interesting for the locals, as well as the club and the district. We just want people to come and enjoy our sport, and hopefully after watching the America's Cup there will be a few people doing that".

"It was a huge sense of relief for us, particularly after what happened in 2013, " John said.

Beyonce and Jay Z become parents to twins
The gender of the twins is unknown and no further details have been revealed, and Beyonce and Jay Z have not confirmed the birth. The Grammy victor singer revealed that she was pregnant with two back in early February with an Instagram post.

The Kiwis were simply better than Oracle in every facet of racing.

Race 9 was another blowout for Team New Zealand, which represents a small, sailing-mad island nation. “We did one little turn up that we didnt need to do there.”.

“We just couldnt get the hook-up after we turned up there at the start and unfortunately allowed them the hook.

“It was clearly an error. We have to learn to play a pressing game at this level for extended times", he said, further explaining: "Our improvement will be a mixture of physical, but also mentally, not everyone was able to sustain focus for 90 minutes.

Oracle hardly helped themselves by making numerous unforced errors and picking up a penalty on leg four by sailing outside the boundary to compound their woes on a miserable and damaging day.

He'll have his own personal quandry, but he's unlikely to give up the exciting position of making an impactful determination. Continued Lynn, "Religious freedom - the right to believe or not as you see fit - is a fundamental American value".
