Iran and Russian Federation will boost cooperation following the sanctions imposed by the United States, which will become the "main loser", a senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said on Sunday, China's Xinhua news agency reported.

"We will continue with full power our missile program", Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi told state television IRIB on Saturday, dismissing new sanctions passed by Congress last week as, "hostile, reprehensible and unacceptable".

Iran had agreed to limit its nuclear activities under the 2015 agreement with the USA and other world powers in exchange for sanctions relief.
