MotoGP champion Marquez takes pole position for Austrian GP

Andrea Dovizioso has taken a stunning last corner victory over Marc Marquez to win the Austrian Grand Prix for Ducati for the second year in a row - and to make amends for losing out in last year's battle with teammate Andrea Iannone at the Red Bull Ring circuit.

The Spaniard took a minor tumble in the final practice session prior to getting back on his bike and upping the pace and there was no halting the defending champion's momentum as he took pole ahead of Ducati duo Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo. "We controlled the race, me and Marc, for the tyres, but is the worst thing you can have - Marc in the last lap behind. Three victories this's really good!"

Dovizioso, who was second in Austria to his then team-mate Andrea Iannone past year, took advantage of the battle between Marquez and Lorenzo to snatch the lead.
