"Borussia Dortmund has made a decision to continue the suspension of the player Ousmane Dembele from first-team training until further notice", a club statement read.

Neymar quit Barcelona two weeks ago, completing a world record £198m transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, a move which has left the Catalan club's squad short on numbers, especially down the left hand side of their attack.

As things stand, the 20-year-old is not under consideration for selection as coach Peter Bosz prepares for the Bundesliga opener away to Wolfsburg on Saturday.

Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho, and Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele are believed to be the top targets for Barcelona, but face potentially being priced out of a move by the selling clubs.

Dortmund had expected to bring in substantial funds for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer but later took him off the market as they said they would not have time to identify a replacement.
