Malala Yousafzai, Shot by the Taliban, Is Going to Oxford

Malala Yousafzai, the 20-year-old Pakistani education activist and youngest victor of the Nobel Peace Prize, has gained a place at Britain's Oxford University.

The UN Messenger of Peace, who lives in Birmingham since she was airlifted for a life-saving surgery after being shot in the head by the Taliban almost five years ago, confirmed the news in a tweet congratulating all students getting their board level exam results on Thursday.

Still, analysts said, the dollar was in an unenviable position with inflammatory news headlines coming from the White House weighing on its already weak position.

Yousafzai will study at Lady Margaret Hall, an Oxford college whose notable alumni include the late Benazir Bhutto, the one-time leader of Pakistan and a hero of Yousafzai's, and Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi, a fellow Nobel Peace Prize victor. It would seem she has got the grades that she required.

The Nobel Peace Prize victor, who has studied at Edgbaston High School in Birmingham since 2013, said she was "so excited".

It was only when the girl's parents filed an FIR at the Falaknuma police station that the matter came to light. The sheikh told Syeed that if this amount is paid him back, he would send the girl back to India.

Malala also congratulated other students receiving their results, tweeting "Best wishes for life ahead!". Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan's first female prime minister, is also an alma mater of Lady Margaret Hall since the 1970s. Ms Yousafzai, 20, will study philosophy, politics and economics.

Malala's father, Ziauddin Yousafzai said his heart is "full of gratitude" in a tweet after finding out his daughter had gotten into Oxford despite having found the application process tough. "We are grateful to Allah and thank you to al' those who support Malala for the grand cause of education".

Trump abandons plans for infrastructure council
The suspension of this council comes after two other business advisory groups were ended by the President earlier this week. President Trump is scrapping plans for a business panel on infrastructure, according to U.S. media reports.

Yousafzai, came to prominence when a Taliban gunman shot her in the head in 2012, after she was targeted for her campaign against efforts by the Taliban to deny women education. She later relocated to the city of Birmingham, England, with her family. In April, she became the youngest-ever UN Messenger of Peace.
