Under Armour CEO Quits Trump Council

Trump in a Monday morning message on Twitter blasted Merck chairman and CEO Ken Frazier for leaving the president's American Manufacturing Council.

In the statement, Kenneth C. Frazier, one of the few African American CEOs in the Fortune 500, said "I feel a responsibility to take a stand against intolerance and extremism" and touted the power of diversity. "I can not sit on a council for a President that tolerates bigotry and domestic terrorism", said Trumka.

Former Uber Technologies Inc [UBER.UL] CEO Travis Kalanick quit the business advisory council in February amid pressure from activists and employees who opposed the administration's immigration policies.

President Trump's American Manufacturing Council originally included the chief executives of more than two dozen top USA companies, as well as leaders of industry groups and labor unions.

They said it's because of President Trump's failure to condemn white supremacists and other hate groups in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's deadly violence in Charlottesville.

Trump took 54 minutes to send Frazier a mocking tweet, noting that Frazier will now "have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!"

As of quarter end Susquehanna International Group, Llp had disposed of a total of 1,223,300 shares trimming its holdings by 43.3%. Following the sale, the executive vice president now owns 428,733 shares of the company's stock, valued at $6,199,479.18.

Frazier is not the first executive to resign from advisory councils serving Trump.

Earlier this week, Merck CEO Kenneth Frasier turned his back on Trump in protest of the president's handling of white supremacist violence in Charlottesville.

Later Monday, Trump targeted Merck in a second tweet.

But Trump's attacks on Frazier didn't stop others from distancing themselves from the council, as top executives of Intel, Under Armour, Alliance of American Manufacturing, AFL-CIO, and Campbell Soup have also resigned from the council.

President Donald Trump is back in the NY skyscraper that bears his name as the furor over his reaction to race-fueled clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend shows few signs of dying down.

But executives are certainly facing a tough choice on whether to stay in the camp of a president who has overall low approval ratings - but also has both a passionate following among a majority of Republican voters and tax plans they favor.

Trump was criticized for initially claiming that "many sides" were to blame for the violence at the rally.

A fourth business leader has resigned from President Donald Trump's White House jobs panel.

For Trump - the grandest grandstander of all time - to accuse anyone else of grandstanding is rich.

"I resigned to call attention to the serious harm our divided political climate is causing to critical issues, including the serious need to address the decline of American manufacturing", Krzanich said in the blog post.

Trump's swift response - and his willingness to go after an American CEO but not specifically name white supremacists in Charlottesville - was noted by a number of observers Monday on social media. "#Intel asks all our countries leadership to do the same", CEO Brian Krzanich said in a tweet. The group, which Trump established in January with about two dozen members, is supposed to meet occasionally to offer the President advice on job growth.
