Of all the locations in the path of totality Monday, Idaho and OR may have some of the best weather to view the eclipse.

The Total Guide To The Total Eclipse
Solar glasses are a must for safe viewing of Monday's total solar eclipse , the first to span coast to U.S. coast in 99 years. The truly rare and dramatic effects happen in the path of totality , and that will miss Richmond by 290 miles to the south.

"High pressure will lead to mostly sunny skies across the area", said Walker. We expect partly cloudy skies with high cumulus clouds which can slightly block viewing the eclipse.

According to an AP report, only about half the country will have favorable weather for the eclipse.

Folks in a narrow swathe of land from OR to SC will see the total eclipse, while most of the rest of North America, along with portions of South America, Africa and Europe, will see a partial eclipse. If mid-level clouds develop in the afternoon West Michigan may have a more hard time viewing the eclipse.

Soothing The Nation? Trump Struggles Like No Other President
President, it shouldn't take you two days to build up the courage to condemn violent neo-Nazis and the KKK". Bob Corker of Tennessee said Thursday the president has not shown he knows "the character of the nation".

"Right now, it doesn't look like it will be a bright, sunny day", Carney said.

"What they're predicting now is partial cloudiness, so you'll still be able to get a majority of the effect of the eclipse", Ishman said.

Does that mean that eclipse views will be hampered? "Even if it's cloudy, the light will dim". We will be dealing with a mix of sun and clouds, but it is looking like we will stay dry.

Five drivers most likely to win at Bristol
Next up on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is the Bojangles' Southern 500 on September 3 at Darlington Raceway in SC . After dominating the first stage, Busch was nailed with a pit road speeding penalty under caution during the break.

For now, all eclipse hopefuls will simply have to wait and see what Monday's skies will bring.
