Steve Bannon out: Trump 'decides to fire chief strategist'

Update 12.35pm: President Donald Trump has tweeted his thanks to Steve Bannon after the latter left the White House.

Sources told the Atlantic that Bannon was now "fully unchained" and has expressed to friends that the Trump administration was failing.

Breitbart News is preparing to go to "war" with President Donald Trump's team following Steve Bannon's ouster from the White House.

Bannon, a former head of far-right outlet, Breitbart News, has been labeled a white supremacist.

He added: "The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over". It'll be something else.

United told us that they would sell him to us if we won the (presidential) election as we didn't have the power at that time . Levante and Getafe are back after one season in the second division.

On Tuesday, the president told reporters at Trump Tower that Bannon was a "good man" and "not a racist".

The removal of the former Breitbart editor as Trump's chief strategist marks a remarkable rise and fall for a rightwing ideologue regarded by some as the power behind the throne.

Bannon had reportedly clashed for months with other Trump advisers including the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner and National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster.

Bannon, the former head of the right-wing site Breitbart News, has been under fire since he began working for the Trump campaign previous year.

Bannon offered his resignation to Trump on August 7, according to one person close to the adviser.

In a separate tweet, Trump called Flake "WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate". Trump was referring to 32-year-old Heather Heyer, the woman killed in Charlottesville.

The move, which the White House said was "mutually agreed", rounds off a week of political upheaval in the US.

Mr. Bannon reportedly "felt liberated" leaving the White House and met with top Trump financier Robert Mercer in NY for five hours this week as he "prepares for war".

Since then, Steve has gone back to his old post at Breitbart News.

Bannon, however, won't be going quietly and says now he has suddenly been freed of constraints that prevented him from being his real self.

"I said, 'look, I'll focus on going after the establishment", Bannon said.

The website announced that Bannon "returned as Executive Chairman of Breitbart News Friday afternoon and chaired the company's evening editorial meeting".
