Since Lahore attack in 2009 on Sri Lankan cricket team, worldwide cricket teams stopped visiting Pakistan for cricket tours. Three big tournaments are expected in Pakistan starting from September's World XI tour.

Pakistan are all set to host World XI side in a three-match T20I series in a bid to bring back worldwide cricket to the country.

According to the report, Collingwood, who is still playing for Durham at the age of 41, will be the only English player in the World XI for the series in Pakistan.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi indicated that the World XI coached by former Zimbabwe great Andy Flower will comprise of 15 worldwide players and is hoping the security situation will remain stable as they bid to bring back global cricket to the country.

Troops from Australia, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, New Zealand, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom will join in as well. North and South Korea are technically still at war after the 1950-1953 Korean War ended with a truce, not a peace treaty.

Shahryar Khan, the former PCB chairman, had said in an interview earlier that Michael Clarke, Tim Paine, and Luke Ronchi would also be part of the World XI team. According to Sethi, the ICC has promised to give Pakistan $1.2 million over the next three years for the revival of global cricket in the country.

South African spinner Imran Tahir has also been linked to the World XI squad.

The World XI team is likely to have representation from West Indies, Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Afghanistan.

"Cricket West Indies and PCB are in talks that will see the Windies visiting Pakistan for a three-match T20 series in Lahore in November".

The chairman of Pakistan cricket board said: "We are getting positive signals and the doors of worldwide cricket are opening on Pakistan".

"The tour would be subject to the safe conclusion of the ICC World XI team's three match series in Lahore in September and affirmation of manageable security by the ICC sponsored global security company overseeing the security arrangements of the World XI in September", the Caribbean board said in a statement.

The PCB had been trying hard to convince foreign teams to tour Pakistan for the last three to four years.
