Greenville County Schools open Wednesday

School Districts across the Big Bend will re-open later this week in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Public school officials in Orange County had already closed facilities last Friday before Irma arrived and then later on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

The Ledger-Enquirer asked Lewis whether students will have to make up the missed classed days.

Parents are wondering when they can send their children back to school.

No timeline has been set for a decision to be made regarding resuming classes Wednesday according to Beth Brotherton, Director of Communications for the district.

The release said: "We will consider whether high winds and excessive rainfall on Monday cause downed trees and lead to widespread power outages".
