South African employers set for modest hiring in Q4

Indian employers expect hiring to remain positive in October-December time frame but project a considerably slower pace compared to past year, according to a new ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey.

The ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, based on interviews with 11,500 employers in the US and the 100 largest metropolitan areas, said 21 percent of Wichita area employers expect to increase staff levels in the three-month period ending December 31.

The seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook stands at +15%, strengthening by 1 percentage point over the previous quarter and by 3 percentage points over the final quarter of 2016.

About 20% of Romanian employers intend to increase staff numbers in the fourth quarter of the year, recruitment company ManpowerGroup Romania said on Tuesday.

Also, in five of eight regions and five of 10 sectors employers have tempered their hiring plans compared to the third quarter.

Employers in all seven industry sectors expect to add to payrolls during the coming quarter.

Statewide, 26 percent of employers are planning to increase their staffing while 4 percent plan a decrease. "It is also an increase of seven percentage points from the Outlook reported during the same time previous year, indicating a moderate hiring pace for the upcoming months".

Against the backdrop of record employment and ongoing Brexit negotiations, ManpowerGroup has revealed that employers in Yorkshire and the Humber are cautiously optimistic about hiring.

The survey conducted on 5,005 employers indicates hiring outlook has rebounded slightly from the prior quarter. Employers in micro organizations are reporting a negative Net Employment Outlook of -1%.

In terms of regions, hiring perspectives are most favorable in the Bucharest & Ilfov and Northwest regions, where employers report Outlooks of +17% and +15%, respectively. The strongest labour markets are anticipated in the restaurants and hotels and the transport, storage and communication sectors with net employment outlooks of an 11% increase.
