The militant Pakistani Taliban group said it carried out an attack on Sunday that killed five people in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.

Muhammad Khorasani, a spokesman of the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Security official Rahmat Gul told RFE/RL that the vehicle of the official, identified as Fawad Khan, was struck by a bomb in Bajaur on September 17.
