Cardi B has also made history by becoming the first solo female rapper to hit No. 1 since Lauryn Hill's 1998 "Doo Wop". And as Billboard points out, she's only the fifth female rapper to ever top the chart at all, after Hill, Lil' Kim (for "Lady Marmalade"), Shawna (for Ludacris' "Stand Up"), and Iggy Azalea (for "Fancy").

Cardi, a native of the Bronx, New York, first captured our attention when she appeared on VH1′s "Love & Hip Hop". Swift's down at No. 12, with about 740,000 streams per day for "Look What You Made Me Do".

"I never really saw that I was gonna hit No. 1, but once I was that close I was like, "Oh my god, I gotta do it, '" Cardi said of the song's 12-week trajectory to the top".

61-Yard Kick Shatters an Eagles Record and the Giants' Hopes
Blount had a rumbling 17-yard run early in the drive, and Wentz later kept it going with an 11-yard scramble on third-and-8. Manning then connected over the middle to Shepard, who broke a couple of tackles and sprinted all the way for a 21-14 lead.

Fans are celebrating both the historic feat for Cardi B, as well as the de-throning of Taylor Swift, whose single dropped to No. 3, behind Post Malone and 21 Savage's "rockstar".

Last Thursday, Swift discounted her single from $1.29 to $0.69 in the iTunes store, seen by many onlookers as a petty, transparent attempt to cling to her spot and hold off a newcomer for whom it would mean so much more.

Despite the professional rivalry brewing, Cardi revealed she was a fan of Swift in a recently surfaced Twitter video, where she can be seen singing "Look What You Made Me Do" in the back seat of a vehicle.

Until then we'll be busy listening to "Bodak Yellow" on repeat.

Her social media personality helped her go viral as thousands of people began sharing her videos.
