BTS Makes K-Pop History By Entering The Billboard 'Hot 100' List

BTS once again proved their popularity not just in Korea but in the whole world, as they entered Billboard's Hot 100 charts this week.

K-pop boy band BTS' latest song "DNA" was ranked among the top 100 tracks on American music publication Billboard magazine's main chart, according to its agency Tuesday. BTS actually held the previous record; its "Wings" went as high as #26 on the chart.

BTS also became the first Korean music group to break into the top 50 artists played on global music streaming service Spotify last week.

The sales for BTS, a seven-member band formed in South Korea in 2012, marked the biggest US sales week ever in the burgeoning K-Pop genre, and the highest chart position so far for a K-Pop act. They are the first K-pop group to make it onto the chart after 2NE1's CL, Psy, and Wonder Girls.

Meanwhile, "Love Yourself: Her" is BTS's fifth mini album comprised of 11 songs, including "DNA", "Best of Me", and "Go Go".

As of September 23, the music video of "DNA" hit 50 million views on YouTube!

Love Yourself 'Her' is the highest-charting K-pop album to make the list. Particularly on MelOn, BTS managed to take all the top spots with their songs from the album 'LOVE YOURSELF: 承 'Her'.

Upon its release, the album topped iTunes charts in 73 countries.
