A Utah mother is being investigated after her 3-year-old son was left overnight in a corn maze.

Authorities in West Jordan, Utah said someone noticed the boy was alone in the maze Monday night and brought the boy to the attention of the maze staff.

The corn maze owner says the boy was scared and crying. He couldn't tell us his name. "They waited there for a while to see if anybody showed up for the child", said Sgt. Joe Monson with West Jordan Police. They say they weren't able to find the boy's parents, so the 3-year-old spent the night with Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS).

The next morning, the parents of the child called West Jordan Police Department and reported the child missing. When they got home, the mother didn't realize her son was missing and ended up falling asleep while watching a movie, Monson said.
