Mukul Roy Trinamool Congress leader tendered his resignation from Rajya Sabha after he was suspended from the party.

On the other hand, BJP has neither confirmed nor denied the reports of Mukul Roy meeting their leaders. "We are party comrades, not a person's servant", Roy said explaining why he was "compelled" to resign. "Please wait for a few days", Roy had recently said.

As speculations are rife that the leader may look to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, Roy has also not made any comments to eliminate that as an option.
