Google launches support for Movies Anywhere

It follows in the footsteps of the UltraViolet locker model (which studios abandoned for superior Disney tech) and the previous proprietary Disney Movies Anywhere.

Along with Disney (and its Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm marks), the service features films from Sony Pictures Entertainment (NYSE:SNE), 20th Century Fox (FOX, FOXA), Universal Pictures (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Warner Bros.

Movie lovers now have a new home for their favorite digital movies as Movies Anywhere launches in the USA today with an unprecedented five Hollywood studios and four major digital retailers on board.

While press renders of Nokia 2 were leaked last month, but there weren't any credible Nokia 9 images leaked till now. In terms of innards, the Nokia 9 is said to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC that would be coupled with 4 GB RAM .

"Movies Anywhere is a massive step forward for the consumer digital media experience, bringing the incredible film libraries of five studios together in a virtual one-stop movie-watching shop", said Karin Gilford, General Manager, Movies Anywhere.

Disney's Movies Anywhere has just launched a new service that allows you store to store and access all your movies in one place. Better still, anybody who links two or more accounts through Movies Anywhere will receive five movies for free.

If you already use the Disney Movies Anywhere service, you're in luck. As the company is pursuing that strategy more aggressively than ever, it seems Movies Anywhere remains a big part of Disney's digital future.even if they are now willing to share. It is similar to Ultraviolet, but will allegedly work more seamlessly and has the capacity of bringing together more studios and online retailers.

Google invites users to link their accounts now to take advantage of this offer, however, the Movies Anywhere website doesn't appear to have officially launched and the Google Play app page that Google links to also isn't live at the time of writing. Activate and connect your account with one of these participating digital retailers - Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes or Vudu - and you'll receive a digital copy of both Sony Pictures' Ghostbusters (2016) and Twentieth Century Fox's Ice Age.
