Aston Martin's DB11 V8 now available as a convertible

Aston's new DB11 convertible - arrives to plug the gap for refined GT motoring in a DB, and it comes with only the option of the 4.0 litre AMG V8 - so no V12 version, at least not for now.

It naturally rides on the same all-new bonded aluminum structure underpinning the DB11 Coupe, making it lighter and more rigid than the model it replaces. Plenty of details were kept under wraps but now the elegant convertible has been revealed in full - and it doesn't disappoint, combining the alluring looks of its coupe sibling with a fabric soft top for open-air cruising.

The eight-layer convertible fabric roof is available in red, dark silver or grey silver. Torque is 513lb ft and the auto produces 255g/km CO2.

Samsung reportedly prepping Bixby 2.0 announcement next week
Bixby can and still needs to be enhanced if Samsung wants to challenge the Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri. Samsung has yet to confirm if the new version of Bixby will be unveiled next week.

The Volante carries over the striking single-piece aluminium bonnet, innovative "Curlicue" aerodynamic feature, and dramatic ultra-slim "light blade" tail lights from the DB11 Coupe.

As a convertible, there's some creature comforts such as a heated steering wheel and rear-seat ISOFIX attachments points to encourage drop-top driving.

Equipment levels are pretty similar to the Coupe too, with leather, heated seats, parking sensors, 360-degree surround view, heated steering wheel and new wood or carbon fibre panels on the seat backs. It can be operated at speeds up to 31mph and takes just 14 seconds to open and 16 to close. Aston Martin also says that the new soft top design provides 20 percent more trunk space than the outgoing DB9. "The new DB11 Volante captures those qualities perfectly and promises the kind of pleasure and enjoyment that can only come from driving an open-top Aston Martin", Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer. The eight layered roof protects you from the most extreme weather (it was tested in Death Valley and the Arctic Circle) and wind noise.

Trump takes his media-bashing to a new extreme
This is a direct violation of the 1st Amendment, yet many Trump supporters seem to be on board with this idea. President: Words spoken by the President of the United States matter".

Max Szwaj, Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, adds: "The challenge of creating a convertible auto is retaining structural and dynamic integrity".

Aston Martin says the new auto is 26kg lighter than the old DB9 Volante model, as well as five percent stiffer, to provide a better ride and handling experience.

Prices for the new vehicle start at £159,900 in the United Kingdom and delivers are scheduled to being during the first quarter of 2018.
