Bashir is wanted by the Hague-based worldwide Criminal Court (ICC) on two counts of crimes against humanity and genocide.

President Yoweri Museveni and his visiting Sudanese counterpart Omar Al Bashir have underscored the need to revitalize the Implementation of the Agreement on Resolution of conflict in South Sudan.

"President Bashir has also offered to host a Uganda-Arab Investment Summit in Khartoum where Uganda will make its case as an investment destination before select investors", partly reads a statement extended to Sudan Tribune on Monday.

"Inviting an global criminal suspect to Uganda not only undermines the fight against impunity which Uganda has for long championed but also betrays the concerns and interests of the victims of the most heinous crimes", six Ugandan rights watchdogs said in a joint statement.
