With the announcement of DXC Technology opening a digital transformation center, over 2,000 direct jobs will be created in New Orleans over the next seven to eight years.

DXC selected New Orleans out of at least 30 US cities as the site of its new Digital Transformation Center based on technology ecosystem, commitment to IT workforce development, local economic strength and population diversity, among other criteria. Mayor Mitch Landrieu called it a "game changer" in the city's drive to diversify its economy.

The announcement will be made at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at 2 p.m.

DXC said its centre will focus on the development, delivery and ongoing support of next-generation digital services and products including applications, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and intelligent automation that serve the company's global clients.
