The Pac-12's experiment with games in China didn't go off without a hitch, as three members of the UCLA men's basketball team were arrested last week for allegedly shoplifting from three stores.

The Washington Post reported Monday that a US official indicated that shoplifting charges against the players have been reduced, and the case could be resolved soon.

LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were initially being held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou after being questioned about stealing sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store near the team's hotel.

News of the arrests was widespread not only in the United States but also in China, breaking just a day before Trump arrived in the country.

This lawsuit comes as the ride-hail company is working to revamp its image after a tumultuous year wrought with public scandals. The unidentified plaintiffs allege they were raped by Uber drivers in separate incidents in Florida and California.

As previously shared, the three were in China for a game against Georgia Tech.

Their release comes shortly after President Donald Trump reached out to Chinese president Xi Jinping asking him to help resolve the players' legal cases.

Media outlets reported that the three were on a Delta flight to Los Angeles.

"One-on-one, I'm undefeated, never lost", LaVar Ball told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith on a March episode of "First Take". Since then, ESPN reported they have been confined to their hotel but allowed to venture across the street to get food.

However, 76 percent said it was more important to cut taxes for corporations than it was to cut taxes for the wealthy. Instead, they are asking that taxes be increased for the wealthy.

Trump learned about the details of the cases from aides, including Kelly, said the official familiar with the internal discussions.

The case is almost a conclusion and indications are that charges against the three players will be reduced.

The elder Ball has become a media personality by aggressively promoting his sons as future National Basketball Association superstars and had travelled to China on the trip to promote his Big Baller Brand shoe and apparel line.

Trump raised the issue with Xi during their meeting on Saturday, The Washington Post reports, and Xi promised the players will be fairly treated.
