Spice Girls Will Reunite for 2018 TV Special

The Spice Girls have reportedly agreed to a reunion in 2018 which will see them record both a new album and a one-off TV special.

All hopes of a reunion had previously been dashed after Mel C and Victoria Beckham refused to return to the Girl Power pop group, but there has now been a change of plan with all five girls having "secret talks" about reforming since the summer.

Beckham has always been rumoured as one of the last hold-outs to a reunion, but the aide claims the birth of ex-Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell's son, and the fallout of Melanie Brown's divorce, have acted as reuniting factors. Will their "girl power" empowerment slogan still resonate two decades after the group's heyday?

There's certainly more to this story and we'll be keeping an eye out for any official word on the matter. To keep it running as fast and smooth as possible, it's always a good idea to have the latest version ...

Somehow, Melanie has apparently been able to convince Victoria Beckham to return to her pop roots, even though she's probably super busy with her worldwide fashion label and four fantastic children. I repeat THEY ARE GETTING BACK TOGETHER!

The insider then elaborated, saying: "Things between them were quite icy at the start of the year".

"Gradually the ice thawed", said the source. Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice's tumultuous divorce and the birth of Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice's son have motivated them to let bygones be bygones and revive their sisterhood. "But the team behind the reunion are delighted to have made it to this point".

Originally forming in 1994, The Spice Girls sold 85 million albums before splitting in 2000. There were other things she wanted to do, and she didn't want to carry on. But we're carrying on as a four-piece, and we wish her well. They reunited for a tour in 2007 and performed for the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.

The big money in this digital music era of streaming comes from touring, not largely anemic album sales.
