Marcus Peters' suspension has made Raiders fans really happy

Chiefs coach Andy Reid took matters into his own hands Wednesday by suspending Marcus Peters for one game after the cornerback chucked a penalty flag into the stands at MetLife Stadium during the closing minutes of Sunday's loss to the Jets. He did so with Marty Mornhinweg and Brad Childress in Philadelphia and with Doug Pederson in Kansas City, though the sources said Reid will continue to have strong oversight during the game. "I haven't made any decision either way", Reid said.

The Chiefs started the season 5-0 but have lost four straight and six of the past seven. He later returned, but obviously, his behavior irked the Chiefs.

Reid also has given strong vocal support to quarterback Alex Smith, but the same team sources say Smith will be on a shorter leash based upon his performance against the Jets.

The all-pro corner, and arguably most stable player in the Chiefs secondary, will be sitting out a must win game against AFC West rival the Oakland Raiders.
