"Nigeria is my problem, " President Muhammadu Buhari, now on his first working visit to Kano, northern commercial city, has declared.

Buhari also recalled how he spent years in court challenging election results.

The President arrived the VIP Wing of the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Wednesday morning to commence the working visit.

The president was accompanied to the Kano prison by the Minister of Interior, General Abdurrahman Danbazau, among others.

Kano and Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said he will still win an election in Kano State because of the overwhelming reception he got at the start of his two-day visit.

"If you educate people, you empower them".

He was received on arrival by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and top government functionaries.

"I am very grateful to God and the people of Kano for the complete trust you have in me", he said.

The president won the 2015 presidential election on the fourth attempt, having contested in the 2003, 2007 and 2011 elections.

The inmates including men and women were selected from the Kurmawa Central Prison, Kano.

The President made the commendation at the inauguration of a multi million naira Giginyu Hospital, named after Buhari.

In his response, Governor Ganduje expressed optimism that Buhari would still visit the state in the nearest future and commission several other developmental projects embarked upon by his administration.
