According to the Leaker Evan Blass, Huawei's P series will come with a triple-lens, 40 MP rear camera setup with 5x hybrid zoom. The upcoming P-series device might feature some of the best camera hardware seen in a smartphone to date.

Renowned mobile tipster Evan Blass has revealed the tech giant's plans to take on the might of Apple and Samsung with a phone that will put imaging front and centre. Till now, the Huawei and Leica partnership is only limited to dual rear cameras, but with the Huawei P11 and P11 Plus, the Leica will also work on the front-facing camera.

This could be a mask for the time being to cover the actual Huawei P11 branding of the device or it could also suggest Huawei launching a new camera-centric "PCE series" smartphone. It's speculated that the new series from Huawei will have some relation to the company's P series due to them using the P10 as a placeholder in the leaked marketing material.

For selfies, it also teased with a Pro Selfie camera that can produce a higher resolution 24MP image with greater clarity in low light.

The ads also point to a "Pro Night Mode" feature and AI integrations. As always, Leica will be continuing to co-develop the cameras on the Huawei flagship smartphones. Additionally, the "Pro AI Camera Assist" will help with "instant scene recognition and auto-framing" to provide users with the best quality images in various conditions. We don't know what this entails exactly, but it is possible that Huawei's AI-powered tech might be capable of processing images on a per-scene basis, depending on what you're photographing, by cross-referencing your shot to a pre-existing database of other images and applying suitable changes automatically.
