Basketball is heading to the Australian Open tennis for the first time, with a top-level game to be played at one of the stadiums during the opening Grand Slam of the year. In spite of being a tense family affair, it was an easy victory for Serena.

Later, it emerged the 36-year old was two-months pregnant while cruising through her victory.

She has not played competitively since Melbourne, raising questions over whether the 23-time Slam victor would attempt to defend her title next month and equal Australian Margaret Court's singles record of 24 major titles.
