2018 is going to start with a bang: YouTube looks set to launch a new music streaming service in March next year. Now, on the back of the success of Spotify and Apple, they are beginning to recover. The company has already penned down details with Warner Bros.

At this point, it's unclear what the new music service will mean for YouTube Red, the company's other paid offering.

What do you think of the idea of a YouTube music streaming service?

Google's worldwide music boss Lyor Cohen has previously spoken of the possibilities of bringing together Google Play Music's paid service with elements of YouTube. YouTube Red was initially launched with a heavy focus on originals, but YouTube been shifting its marketing to put a bigger emphasis on ad-free YouTube viewing and music streaming in recent months.

The one major advantage YouTube could have over its rivals is a huge catalog of video content to complement its music library. Apart from this, the company has also been reaching out to artists to market its service when it is launched.
