Now, Gujarat too bans release of 'Padmaavat'

The film has been granted clearance from the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) after shortening of the title and some modifications in the script. Despite Karni Sena threatening to stall theatres screening Padmavat, UP government has given a green signal to the film so far. However, UP, Uttarakhand and Goa Chief Ministers have no qualms about the movie's release in their states, though they are being watchful of the events that could unfold. But we want it to release as soon as possible.

But the outfit protested against the film's release in Rajasthan and other parts of the country over the portrayal of queen Padmini in it. The decision was taken keeping in mind the law and order situation before elections next month in the state, the chief minister added.
