Trump Is in 'Excellent Health' - Examining Physician

The physical exam President Donald Trump will undergo Friday doesn't include a mental evaluation - but if you heed the mental health community, you'll stop trying to diagnose the president from a distance.

President Donald Trump arrived for his first medical checkup as president at Walter Reed military hospital on Friday, undergoing a physical examination amid suggestions in a recent book and by his detractors that he's mentally unfit.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the physician who carries out the exam would release a statement about his health following the check-up.

Dr. Ronny Jackson's very brief statement released Friday night revealed little about the results of the physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Michael Wolff, author of 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, ' has claimed that Donald Trump lacked the mental fitness to serve as president, describing him as an "undisciplined man-child" who did not want to win the election.

"I'm up there using a lot of motion", he said.

WASHINGTON ― President 's own administration recommends that those 65 and older get an annual "cognitive impairment" screening as part of their annual physicals.

The exam came as Democrats and members of the media openly question Trump's mental fitness for office.

The book has been dismissed as "tabloid trash" by the White House. The check-up came just before Trump left for another weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort, a golf club at which he spent almost every third day of his presidency in 2017 alone.

At the same time , Trump called on Congress to come up with a legislative solution to keep the program in place. Without the President's buy-in, the work of the group can't reach the Senate floor, Republican leadership said.

And his diet isn't known to have changed from the high-calorie dishes he has favored in the past: well-done steak with ketchup, meatloaf, hamburgers, vanilla ice cream, salads with blue cheese dressing and chocolate cake.

That's because Trump is notably fond of fast food and reportedly drinks 12 cans of Diet Coke a day.

What precisely will be disclosed about the President's health isn't yet clear.

The White House announced earlier this week that Jackson would take the unusual step of answering questions about the president's exam during the daily briefing next Tuesday. Because the health information is considered private under federal law, the President himself must sign off on its release.

"My biggest concern has really been the whole nuclear threat", he told Politico.

Donald Trump cancels February visit to UK
Many British politicians have voiced their opposition to Trump being granted a state visit, and say the invite should be recalled. The "strong and deep" partnership between Britain and the USA "will endure" despite Mr Trump's cancellation, a spokesman added.

Famously, Trump has never smoked and drunk alcohol as his alcoholic brother Fred died aged just 43.
