WH's Miller Responds: CNN Has 'Very Low Journalistic Standards'

During the interview, Miller bashed former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, rubbished the book's author and criticised CNN for creating a "toxic environment" of "extremely fake news".

White House senior adviser Stephen Miller in a new interview continued to blast CNN, one day after he got into a heated on-air exchange with host Jake Tapper before he was ultimately escorted off the set. "It is, as Jake Tapper said, to be obsequious and humiliate yourself in hopes that the president will be excited".

Miller would not leave voluntarily after the segment and instead had to be escorted off the CNN set by security, reported CBS News and Business Insider.

Tapper questioned Miller on the issues of President Trump's mental stability and whether the president met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya-questions prompted by Steve Bannon's quotes in the Matt Wolff book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House".

The interview became so contentious that Tapper cut the interview short, claiming Miller was "wasting his viewers' time". "I can only tell you my experience, which is that I joined the campaign in January of '16", he said, prompting Tapper to ask about Bannon's role in Miller's hiring.

"We'll discuss, as I said when I announced that he was going to be doing the physical, we'll have a readout of that after that is completed and we'll let you know at that time", Sanders said.

Both CNN and the White House declined to comment on the nature of Miller's departure. "This is like taking it to a whole new low", she said.

On Saturday, Trump tweeted that he was "like, very smart", and a "very stable genius", in response to the Fire and Fury allegations.

Asked why Tapper would not give him three minutes to talk about the president he has known for two years, Tapper told Miller, "Because it's my show and I don't want to do that".

Miller then went on to justify Trump's habit of self-flattery by saying that he was "a political genius" who had "tapped into something magical that's happening in the heart of this country". "Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!" he posted.

To witness the administration fighting back in its first interview of 2018, President Trump may be sending a signal to the base.

He just briefly touched on the deal, saying he was working to "make it fair for you people again" without saying how. In the press conference, Duvall also talked about what he will say during his time with President Trump today.

Miller's politics quickly came into question soon after becoming a prominent voice in the Trump administration: As a teenager during the Bush administration, Miller wrote a letter to a local publication deriding the "rampant political correctness" at his high school.
