Pierre Labossiere was aghast when, during immigration discussions in the Oval Office Thursday, President Donald Trump questioned why the USA should admit immigrants from Haiti and Africa, calling them "shithole countries".

Trump denied the racist remarks, tweeting on Friday that the language he used "was tough, but this was not the language used", as he called for a "merit-based system of immigration and people who take our country to the next level".

In a series of tweets on Friday morning, Trump said the language used by him at the meeting was "tough, but this was not the language used", stressing that he "never said anything derogatory about Haitians".

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of SC said Friday he spoke "directly" to President Trump inside the Oval Office after he reportedly used a crude slur to describe to "s***hole countries" from Africa.

According to reports, Trump pushed for Haitians to be excluded from any immigration deal, asking, "Why do we want people from Haiti here?".
