Ten-man Leicester hold lacklustre Chelsea

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has conceded that Leicester City "were the better team" for the majority of the game in their goalless draw at Stamford Bridge today.

Chelsea were second best against 10-man Leicester at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, but managed to at least claim a point from a 0-0 draw.

"Leicester had a lot of chances in the first half, and we did not respond until the second half when we brought on fresh faces, which led to good chances".

There's no let-up in the fixture list coming for Chelsea, with an FA Cup replay against Norwich on Wednesday, trip to Brighton next Saturday and Carabao Cup semi-final second leg four days after that.

"We played with nearly the same players as against Arsenal.

But I think I saw a lot of players very exhausted", Conte said.

"I saw many players were very exhausted and they didn't recover from the Arsenal game". "I think a lot of our players were exhausted".

Despite going down to 10 men with over 20 minutes to play Leicester weren't put under any significant pressure, as Conte somewhat surprisingly withdrew both Hazard and Fabregas for Pedro and Willian. We tried to create chances, to score, and we are not suffering defensively.

Conte said he always planned to play "almost the same team" against the Foxes as he did against the Gunners in the Caraboa Cup.

Antonio Conte had been wary of the Foxes and his concern proved well founded as the movement and energy of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki troubled Chelsea.

"Then he insulted me for a second time but now I change and now contempt and for me contempt means end of the story".

Earlier this week Antonio Conte reiterated his commitment to Chelsea as he insisted he will not walk away from the club at the end of the season.

Two main talking points were how reliant the team is on Eden Hazard to produce a moment of magic and the ongoing goal drought of the club's record signing Alvaro Morata.

"We suffered a lot". We have great players also and quality in the squad and a great attitude all the time in training sessions on the pitch. "We have to try to improve on this aspect".

Crystal Palace continued their rise up the table under former England manager Roy Hodgson by winning 1-0 at home against Burnley - who were without All Whites striker Chris Wood due to a knee injury - with Bakary Sako scoring the only goal of the game with an angled left-foot drive in the 21st minute.

And when the Chelsea captain had to be taken off with a hamstring injury in the first half, Christensen was called upon as opposed to Luiz.

"Cahill was a muscular problem, but not a serious problem", Conte said.
