On 21 January Turkey launched a military operation codenamed "Olive Branch" and advanced 8 kilometers into neighboring Syria (Afrin Province). Codenamed "Operation Olive Branch", it's the latest chapter in a decades-long conflict between Turkey and Kurdish militants.
