How Boston Herald reporter was allegedly tricked into Tom Brady contract story

Longtime Boston Herald reporter Ron Borges was catfished by a fan who posed as Tom Brady's agent on Thursday night, and the result was a bombshell story that claimed Brady is planning to hold out for more money this offseason.

Boston radio station WEEI claims that one of its listeners, "Nick in Boston", pulled a prank on Borges with text messages pretending to be from Brady's agent, Don Yee.

Trump frustrated with Hicks' role in Porter scandal
Trump said "it was very sad" to learn about Porter's alleged abuse, but pointed out that Porter has denied the claims. Like Porter, Kushner has yet to be granted the clearance but he has not been denied, either.

Columnist Ron Borges reported in Friday's edition of the Herald that Brady meant to hold out of Patriots offseason and preseason work unless he received a contract similar in compensation to the one Jimmy Garoppolo agreed to with the San Francisco 49ers Thursday.

Garoppolo signed a record-breaking, five-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday that will pay him a reported $137.5 million.

JP Duminy Makes A Big Statement On Kuldeep Yadav And Yuzvendra Chahal
Dhoni became the first Indian and just the fourth overall wicketkeeper to effect 400 dismissals in One-Day Internationals. Giving up on his favourite "kulche chole" (a popular north Indian snack) hasn't been the India captain's only sacrifice.

Nick told WEEI on Friday morning the prank was easy to pull off. Borges followed that up with a phone call and never doubted that he was talking to Yee rather than a prankster. "Here's the amusing part". Sports Boston's Tom Curran called the report "off the reservation" and it appears his initial assessment was spot on.

The top sports story in today's Boston Herald is a Ron Borges column that was based on a lie. But then I was just like, whatever, screw it, I'll just call him and he's gonna know it's not Don Yee.

Borges has a history of plagiarism, and was sacked from the Boston Globe a decade ago. And some of those texts made their way into Borges' column before it was taken off the Herald's website.
