A few hours after Mumbai Police arrested Seedfund founder and angel investor Mahesh Murthy on charges of sexual harassment, Murthy said that he has been granted an anticipatory bail. The commission had directed the police to apprise them about the details of the case along with action taken within 15 days. Murthy's Seedfund has over 25 investees, including Carwale, RedBus, AFAQs, Chumbak and Edusports.

The arrest of Murthy, the founder of early stage fund Seedfund, comes after the National Commission for Women (NCW) wrote to the Khar police in December a year ago.

The Khar Police registered an FIR against him under Sections 354 D, 509 of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act.

Renowned as a marketer, advertising guru, and once headed a popular music TV channel in India, Murthy had, in 2000, along with some partners ventured into funding early stage start-ups for various companies across different sectors.
