Mr Moon did not immediately accept the offer, calling instead for efforts to "create the right conditions to realise" such a visit, and urging Pyongyang to actively seek dialogue with the United States, said Mr Moon's spokesman.

Moon's spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom also said Thursday the North Korean delegates will attend the games' opening ceremony on Friday evening, hours after they are to arrive at Incheon International Airport on a private jet.

"I leave here very confident that we are going to continue to do the things we've known have to be done to continue to pressure North Korea to abandon their nuclear ambitions", Mr. Pence said on Air Force Two.

The two sides stressed on Saturday that they were interested in maintaining movement toward peace.
