Two Turkish Army pilots were killed when their helicopter crashed during the Operation Olive Branch in Syria's Afrin region on Saturday.

"A little earlier, one of our helicopters was shot down", Erdogan said in televised remarks without saying who was responsible but vowing they would pay a "heavier price".

It said it had killed 39 militants.
